HOTEL TRAVEL INDUSTRY DISCOUNTED RATES

Hotel discounts can be booked over the phone with the rooms only department or via the UniversalPartnerCommunity. To find the link within the community, please select Partner Perks, Hotel Benefits (small print), and then Book Online.
Hotel Discounts are:

ONE COMPLIMENTARY TICKET

The complimentary 3-Day, 3-Park, Park-to-Park ticket is offered each year after completing the Specialist Exam (and meeting the minimal sales requirements which is a booking done within the last 6 months) on the UniversalPartnerCommunity. The ticket must be used within the 12 month period after completing the Specialist Exam.
  • Tickets are only valid for Travel Advisor use
  • Requests must be submitted 14 days prior to arrival
  • Tickets cannot be upgraded or applied towards another ticket product
  • Once requested, they can be canceled and used at a later time within the 12 month period as noted above
  • Uploaded the CLIA or IATA credential is not required at this time
  • A driver’s license is required if picking up the tickets at a Guest Services Window. CLIA, IATA, TRUE credentials are not required when picking up the ticket(s)

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD

Effective 7/18, you can now qualify for discounted theme park admission every year.

  • Must complete the Universal Hollywood Specialist Exam via www.UniversalPartnerCommunity.com

If you have customers that booked directly with Universal and now wish for you take over the booking then this info is for you.

Unfortunately, Universal doesn’t have a system to allow agents to add their IATA/CLIA or VAX account number to a pre-existing booking due to the limitations of the VAX system.

In order for an agency to get involved with a pre-booked customer package you will need to:

  • Create a new booking and duplicate the package and pricing.
  • If no payment/deposit was made by the customer then the customer can simply call UPRV and have their original booking canceled. Reservations must request this transfer with finance so there must be enough time to complete the process (7-10 days during normal times).
  • There’s no written timeline for this process to take place after the customer makes their original booking. Must have time to transfer deposits, and must not be paid in full.
  • If a deposit/payment was made by the customer then once you create the new duplicate booking, you can give the new booking numbers to the customer and advise them they must call UPRV to cancel (or do a 3-way call) their original booking and request for funds to be moved to the new booking

If full payment was received then nothing can be done.
